Samsung Note 20 Ultra Review
Samsung Note 20 Ultra Review by Filip Nikolic
The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra is here. It's a BIG phone and has a bunch of premium features that are not available with the regular Galaxy Note 20. So, here is my Samsung Note 20 Ultra review. I am upgrading from a Samsung S10+ which I really like and it is still in perfect condition
I always take great care of my mobile phone so it's pretty much like new. The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra has specifications and size that really appeal to me. Plus as a dedicated Samsung fan I upgrade to a new Samsung flagship smartphone every year and a half on average. I like to have the latest phone, so it's time!!
I use my Samsung smartphone for work, as HelpDesk Heroes technical support engineer, as well as my personal life. Having a good camera is important to me as I am always travelling (well, pre-covid and hopefully post-covid soon!). I am always taking pictures of my surroundings, music concerts and food! When I am working on the go I like having a big screen as it is just easier to see everything.
It's just amazing that only few years ago we had less RAM in our computers and laptops than we have today in our pockets. Samsung's designers and engineers have been busy with this latest model so while I am waiting for my pre-order, let's talk about the specifications and upgrades.

The Big Screen
As I mentioned earlier I like a big screen as it is easier for work. The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra has a 6.9-inch OLED quad HD+ display. They have introduced the Samsung’s trademark punch hole for the Infinity-O Display with even more immersive and a nearly bezel-less screen. The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra also has dynamic 120Hz refresh rate. This will improve the smoothness of the display making it a better overall visual experience. This is really beneficial when I am working with clients who need remote support or I am dealing with IT issues out of office.
High Resolution Camera
I am always taking pictures so am looking forward to trying it out and getting a professional level photography experience. The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra has the highest resolution on a smartphone. There are three cameras on the back. A 12MP Ultra Wide Camera, 108MP Wide Camera and a 12MP Telephoto Camera in addition to a laser auto-focus sensor. Promising cinema quality video recording as well, this makes the latest camera upgrades look really impressive.
Performance and The Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Plus
The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra should be one of the fastest Android phones around, as it’s one of the first handsets with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 Plus processor. The new chipset also boosts the clock speed by 10% up to 3.1 GHz in addition to the graphics card being an additional 10% faster than the Snapdragon 865 chip inside the Galaxy S20. So let's see!
The Samsung S Pen
This will be my first time using the stylus and I intend to start making notes with it... and maybe even get a little creative. The Samsung S Pen is even faster with a high-end 9ms response time and promises to feel even more like real pen to paper experience. The Air Command function should be useful and you can also use the S pen as a remote control to take photos from a distance (making this the first mainstream distant selfie technology).
4,500 mAh Battery
I think everyone can safely say they always want longer battery life on their phones. The battery on the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra is a 4,500 mAh battery. I will be testing it out over the coming weeks and posting my results on Twitter. As part of my ongoing Samsung Note 20 Ultra Review, I'm curious to see if any of the features and the dynamic 120Hz refresh rate have any great effect on the overall battery charge.
The Price
This is quite a pricey phone at £1200 and up. If you already have the Note 10 or S20+, it doesn't necessarily make good sense to upgrade, but if you are like me and crazy for premium smartphones, it is almost not even a choice and it is a worthwile investment. If you pre-order the smartphone, you will also get the brand new Galaxy Buds Live, which are noise cancelling and designed for comfort. They come in different colours and can been worn all day without strain on your ears.
Samsung Note 20 Ultra review ongoing
My new Samsung Note 20 Ultra is arriving on the 21st August and I'm looking forward to having it in my hands. This smartphone is going to be great for anyone who loves taking pictures and shooting video or who needs it for work and social media. It looks good, is powerful and is useful for work and personal use.
Ultimately, if you are thinking of upgrading your smartphone - then I would highly recommend taking a closer look at the flagship Samsung Note 20 Ultra. It comes in three colours: Mystic Bronze, Mystic Black and Mystic White. I ordered Mystic Black! You can pre order them until 20th August - I got mine here
